Why NeuroHelm Exists
When you live with a neurological condition, every day is an experiment. What you eat, how you sleep, which supplements you take โ everything matters. But tracking all of this in spreadsheets or generic apps designed for healthy people is exhausting, especially when fatigue is your biggest enemy.
NeuroHelm was created to solve this exact problem. It is a purpose-built tool that understands the unique challenges of neurological conditions โ large buttons for days when fine motor control is hard, dark mode for visual fatigue, and an AI assistant who actually knows what MS fatigue means (hint: it is not "tiredness").
Our goal is simple: help you discover what works for your body, so you can walk into your next neurology appointment with real data instead of vague memories.
The Developer
Iiro Hietala
Founder & Lead Developer
Iiro got his first computer in 1985 when he was 4 years old. He has been a professional software developer since 2000, working across enterprise systems, mobile apps, and cloud platforms.
In 2019, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). He began tracking symptoms in a spreadsheet, but it quickly became unwieldy. Wanting deeper insights into his disease through data and AI, he set out to build NeuroHelm โ transforming a simple tracking tool into an intelligent health companion.
Today, NeuroHelm is the tool he uses every single day to track his own symptoms, monitor supplement effectiveness, and prepare for neurology appointments with real, structured data.
